Many of us encode data into our SKUS including ITEM COST. It could be pulled from the SKU as long as the system was trained to look for the specific formatting which could be really simple. We use a $ in our SKU and enter it like dollars

For example: 10-02-2024-$06.99-Q10-Walmart

I could see a little of errors with some people also including LISTED PRICE in their SKU, but that could easily be bypassed by just grabbing the first $ amount in the SKU
